Gary Thomas Heartley, 53, of Woodbine, passed away of cancer on Thursday, October 4, 2018 in Westminster. Born on June 16, 1965 in Carroll County, Gary was the son of the late Fred and Libby Heartley. He was a member of the 1983 graduating Class of Westminster High School.

He was a member of Stone Chapel United Methodist Church, New Windsor. Gary is survived by his daughter Breanna Boone and her husband Dereck of Westminster and his grandson, Dalton Boone. His sister-in-law Darlene Heartley also survives him. Gary was the owner of Heartley Painting. He enjoyed horse racing, fishing, hunting, and woodworking.

He was a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and NASCAR. Throughout his life, he enjoyed listening to all types of music as well as playing the drums. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Mel Heartley.

The family will welcome friends on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Rd. , Westminster. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 10 at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Interment will follow in Stone Chapel Cemetery, New Windsor. In lieu of flowers, the family would welcome donations to A Mission of Mercy, 255 Clifton Blvd, Westminster, MD 21157, or online at www. amissionofmercy.org.
