Elizabeth Warner “Betty” Mathias, 90, of New Windsor, passed away on Monday, November 26, 2018 at Carroll Hospice Dove House. Born on March 2, 1928 in Westminster, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Lease and Margaret Eleanor (Stansbury) Warner. She was the wife of the late Malcolm V. Mathias, a dairy farmer, who predeceased her in 1988.

Warner, worked in the home heating oil business which was… Read More » founded by their father in Frizzellburg in 1945. After the deaths of her father and brother, Betty continued to operate S. Lease Warner, Inc., until the business was sold in 1994.

She also operated the family farm until her death. She was a life-long member of St. John Catholic Church. Surviving her are children Mary Margaret Blessing and husband Ronald of Hanover, PA, Michael Mathias of New Windsor, Rosemary Murphey and husband Dennis of Linwood, Robert Mathias and wife Denise of Westminster, Joseph Mathias and wife Harriet of Union Bridge, Anne Clinton and husband Weldon of New Windsor; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren.

The family will welcome friends on Thursday, November 29, 2018 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm at Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Rd. ,Westminster. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, November 30, 2018 at 11:00 am at St. John Catholic Church, 43 Monroe St., Westminster.

Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in her name to either Carroll Hospice-Dove House, 292 Stoner Ave. , Westminster MD 21157 or St. John Catholic Church, 43 Monroe St., Westminster MD 21157.
