Obituary for George Edward Linendoll Watervliet – George E. Linendoll, 76, lifelong resident of Watervliet, passed away peacefully, in the comfort of his home, on Tuesday, March 20, 2018. Born on August 3, 1941, he was the son of the late Edward A. and Marjorie Snyder Linendoll. George married his high school sweetheart, Eleanor (Jane) Fleming Linendoll 59 years ago.
Two years before retiring, George and Jane purchased their first motor home and started travelling. Jane was his co-pilot and they had miles of smiles together. George was a retired teamster, Local 294, truck driver and spent spent 31 years working for Red Star Express Line, Nelson Freightways and U&OMotor Express.
He retired in 1996. George will always be remembered as a hard working family man. Those who knew him will be sure to recall his quick wit and sense of humor.
Through the years one of his greatest joys was seeing these traits live on in his children and grandchildren. When not travelling, George took much pleasure in spending time in the woods. Sometimes that just meant taking a nap in the cabin built for him by Shawn.
In addition to his wife, George is survived by his sister, Marcia Eistertz; his brother, Stewart (Anne) Linendoll; his loving children, Donna J. (Tom) Bruno, Shawn T. (Terri) Linendoll, Dean Edward (Mark) Linendoll; his cherished grandchildren, Thomas Bruno II, Scott (Amanda) Bruno, Christopher Linendoll, Katie (Jake) Michael; his treasured great-grandchildren, Ava Linendoll, Zoey Michael, Jordan Michael and Nolan Bruno. George and his family would like to express sincere thanks to Dr. Augustin DeLago (Gus), Dr. Rafia Chaudhry and the Albany Dialysis Center staff for their care and compassion over the years. Friends are invited to visit with George’s family on Thursday from 4 until 7 PM at the Parker Bros.
Memorial, 2013 Broadway, Watervliet. The evening will conclude with a prayer service at 7 pm conducted by the Reverend Trygve Tomlinson. Interment will be held privately.
