George F. Smith, 91, Falls Creek, passed away Monday, June 11, 2018 at Christ the King Manor. Born March 22, 1927, in Beechwoods, he was the son of the late George H. and Edna C. (Crawford) Smith. On October 22, 1949, he married Janet M. Dusch in Falls Creek.

She preceded him in death on July 4, 2012. George graduated from Beechwoods High School in 1945 and continued his education at the DuBois Business College and Penn State University, where he studied milk processing. He was a member of the Falls Creek United Methodist Church, where he was a former Sunday School teacher, trustee, and auditor. George was a former superintendent at the Beechwoods Presbyterian Church, as well as a member of the Garfield Masonic Lodge #559, Coudersport Consistory, and the Shriners. George was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II.

George is survived by three children, Cheri (John) Lehman, Madera, PA, Debra Smith, Irwin, PA, and Gordon H. Smith, DuBois, seven grandchildren, Jessica Canner, John Lehman, Michael Robb, Elizabeth Robb, Alexander Smith, Emily Smith, and Rachel Smith, ten great-grandchildren, a sister, Doris Jean Shuster, Greensburg, PA, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two sisters, Majorie McConnell and Shirly Korman, and a brother, Dallas Smith. Friends and family will be received Saturday, June 16, 2018, from 10-11 a.m. at the Adamson Funeral Chapel, Inc. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at the funeral chapel at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev.

Leon Blose officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the DuBois Area Honor Guard. Interment will be in Beechwoods Cemetery.
