Youngstown – Georgina “Gina” Solinger, 74 of Youngstown, Ohio, died Thursday evening March 14, 2019 at her home. She was born January 19, 1945 in Freckleton, England a daughter of Charles and Elizabeth (Gornall) Buckner . She was a graduate of Austintown Fitch High School and had worked as a lift operator for Packard Electric for many years retiring in 1995.

Gina enjoyed spending her summers at the family camp at Berlin Lake and her winters in Fort Myers, Florida. Over the years she traveled to England several times to visit family and friends. Besides her husband, Ron Solinger, whom she married July 14, 1962, she leaves her son, Ron (Nora) Solinger of Austintown; Her daughter, Tracie (Chris) Becka of Berea, Ohio; her sister, Barb (Ron) Pavlechko of Boalsburg, Pa.

and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her family she was a surrogate mother to Brian, Mike and Stacey Takas and Stacey’s daughter Taylor who she treated as her granddaughter. She also leaves her special friend Marcie Sabol.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Mark Buckner. There are no services or calling hours. The family requests material contributions take the form of donations to Hospice of the Valley, 9803 Sharrott Road, Poland, Ohio 44514.
