Glenn’s Obituary Glenn C. Karper, 87, of Mechanicsburg, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, May 19, 2019, at Harrisburg Hospital. Born February 23, 1932, in Shippensburg, to the late Luther W. and Beulah P. (Beistline) Karper. Glenn was a US Army Veteran of the Korean War.

He was released from active duty as a Sergeant in October 1954. Glenn worked as a communications technician for AT&T until his retirement in 1990. He was a lifetime member of Telephone Pioneers of America.

He was an avid gardener and a wonderful Christian husband and father. Glenn is survived by his loving wife, Norma J. (Hockersmith) Karper; daughter, Joni L. Updegraff, and husband Jeffrey, of Camp Hill; sister, Margaret “Peggy” Comer, of Mansfield, TX; two grandsons, Jason A. Updegraff and wife Jillian, and Joshua A. Updegraff. He was preceded in death by his son Bruce A. “Drew” Karper, and his 5 siblings.

Visitation will be held Friday, May 24, 2019, from 9:30 AM until 11:30 AM at Malpezzi Funeral Home, 8 Market Plaza Way, Mechanicsburg. Lunch will follow the visitation at Mt. Pleasant Church of God, 146 S. York Road, Dillsburg.

Burial will take place at 2:00 PM Friday with full military honors at Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, 1921 Ritner Hwy, Carlisle.
