Obituary for Gloria (Sheldon) Woitowitz Gloria (Sheldon) Woitowitz, 77, of New Britain, widow of Robert F. Woitowitz, passed away Friday (May 25, 2018) at Lawrence & Memorial Hospital in New London. A native and lifelong New Britain resident, Gloria is a graduate of New Britain High School, Class of 1959 and was formerly employed at New Britain General Hospital and Brittany Farms Healthcare in New Britain. She was a member of St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in New Britain and was a former member of Ladies Aide and Mr. & Mrs. Club at the church.

Gloria was an avid music fan. She loved to listen to Elvis, Barry Manilow, and Neil Diamond. She also loved listening to the BigD 103 oldies radio station, always winning tickets to events, including the Halloween and Super Bowl parties.

Surviving are three sons, Mark Woitowitz and his wife Sally of Old Lyme; Douglas Woitowitz and his longtime companion Debora of Southington; and Christopher Woitowitz and his wife Sherry of Neosho, MO; a sister, Christine Kalita and her husband Fred of Southington; five grandchildren, Rhiannon, Robert, Daniel, Samuel and Jonathan; six step grandchildren, James, Chris, David, Kenny, Sean and Kyle; seven great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband Robert, she was predeceased by a sister, Nancy Todzia. Funeral services are Friday 10 AM at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, 99 Franklin Square, New Britain, CT 06051.

Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday 4 to 7 PM at Carlson Funeral Home, 45 Franklin Square, New Britain. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church.
