Grover K. Countryman of Garland, Texas July 1, 1928 – January 19, 2019 Grover Kenneth Countryman, 90, a former long-time resident of Irving, died Saturday, January 19, 2019 in Carrollton. Born July 1, 1928 in Bernice, Oklahoma, he was the son of the late Oliver Countryman and Dollie Mae Wilson Countryman. He served in the United States Army Air Corps which became the U S Airforce.

He married Virginia Lea Graham January 1, 1949 in Bentonville, Arkansas. They moved to Irving in 1953 and were charter members of MacArthur Blvd. Baptist Church.

The moved to Lewisville in 2007. She preceded him in death December 1, 2013. He moved to Garland in 2017.

He had been an electrician for the Zimmerman Sign Company in Dallas for 57 years before his retirement. Survivors include his children, Sharon Cole and husband Don of Seagoville, Kenneth Countryman and wife Denise of Irving, Rick Countryman and wife Kathy of Garland, and Pamela Crisson and husband Cope of Murphy, TX; a sister Leola Jones of Corpus Christi; fifteen grandchildren, Jeremy Cole and wife Ella, Jason Cole and wife Amber, Jennifer Infante and husband Roderick, Shannon Waggoner and husband Jonathan, Bryan Countryman and wife Michelle, Cory Countryman and wife Cherie, Shane Countryman and wife Whitney, Katie Krause and husband Gregory, Chris Countryman and wife Nicole, Kevin Countryman and wife Cassie, K.C. Countryman and wife Brittani, Cary Countryman and wife Brooke, April Reeves and husband, Brandon, Trey Crisson and wife Amy, and O. J. Oliver Crisson and wife Megan; and thirty-seven great grandchildren. The family will receive friends 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Monday, January 21, 2019 at Donnelly’s Colonial Funeral Home, 606 West Airport Freeway.

The funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at MacArthur Blvd. Baptist Church, 8001 Mustang Drive, Irving, 75063. Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, 75211.

Those wishing to attend the committal service should assemble in Lane 1 at DFW National Cemetery by 10:45 a.m. Wednesday.
