Harold Prather, 81, of Bloomfield, passed away Friday April 27, 2018 at Flaget Memorial Hospital. He was born May 11, 1936 in Nelson County, a self-employed builder, and owner of Humphrey Bros. Hardware, United States Army Veteran, member of Bloomfield Masonic Lodge, and Chaplin Christian Church (D.O.C.).

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sebert and Betty Rose Prather; and sister, Helen Parrish. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Freda Hahn Prather; son, Bryan (Denyse) Prather both of Bloomfield; daughter, Lana (Johnny) Peach; grandson, Landon Peach both of Lawrenceburg; sister, Pauline Burgin of Chaplin; and several nieces and nephews. His funeral service will be 11:00 am Monday April 30, 2018 at Barlow Funeral Home, with burial in Highview Cemetery in Chaplin.

Rev. Jim Wheeler will officiate. Visitation will be 2 to 8 pm Sunday April 29 and 9 to 11 am Monday April 30 at Barlow Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may go to Chaplin Christian Church (D.O.C.).
