William “Bill” Marquess, 73, of Fairfield, passed away Saturday April 21, 2018 at his residence. He was born March 29, 1945 in Louisville, United States Marine Veteran of Vietnam, retired from Pepsi Co., and former Mayor of Fairfield. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Rogan Walls; parents, Ben and Dorothy Marquess; sister, Drucilla Eichenberger; and brother, Ben Marquess Jr

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen Rogan Marquess of Fairfield; two sons, Alex Marquess, and Gavin B. (Amy) Walls both of Bardstown; two daughters, Martina Amshoff of Bardstown, and Ellen (Pat) McCauley of Boston; eleven grandchildren; one great-grandson; two sisters, Jackie McNabb and Rosie Roberts both of Florida; and several nieces and nephews. His funeral service will be 11:00 am Wednesday April 25, 2018 at Barlow Funeral Home, with burial in St. Michael Cemetery in Fairfield. Rev.

Eldon Morgan will officiate. Visitation will be 3 to 8 pm Tuesday April 24 and 9 to 11 am Wednesday April 25 at Barlow Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may go to Humane Society of Nelson County.
