Helen Marie Cox, age 80, of Elwood, passed away on Friday, July 6, 2018 at Alexandria Care Center following an extended illness. Helen was born on May 19, 1938, in Springport, IN to the late Edgar and Sarah (Hastings) Davis. On Nov.

11, 1961, she married the love of her life Jack Cox who passed away on Jan. 9, 2004. Helen retired in 2002, from Tipton Memorial Hospital where she had worked as an aid and in registration.

She attended Church of God of Elwood. She was an avid bowler in the Elwood’s Women’s league at Lucky Strike Lanes. She enjoyed Bingo and going on the annual girls gambling trips.

Helen is survived by her daughter; Debbie (Joe) Hancock of Elwood and a son; Danny (Lea Anne) Kelley of Georgia, four grandchildren; Nicole (Stacy) Meyer, Michelle Jones, Joel Hancock and Ronnie Yeagy, seven great grandchildren; Steven, Caitlin, Justin, John, Kaylee, Regan and Riley, one brother; Kenny Burris. Helen was preceded in death by her father; Edgar Davis, mother; Sarah Davis and brother; Cecil Davis. Funeral service celebrating Helen’s life will be at 1 PM, Monday July 9, 2018, at Dunnichay Funeral Home in Elwood with Rev.

Stan Alvey officiating. Burial will follow in the Elwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 AM to 1 PM Monday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Elwood Animal Shelter through the funeral home. Online condolences can be given at www.
