Mary L. Davenport, age 80, of Peru and formerly of Elwood, was reunited with loved ones who had gone before her on Friday, June 29, 2018 at Hickory Creek in Peru. She was born in Winchester on February 5, 1938, to the late Boyd and Sarah (Reese) Porter. On April 27, 1957 she married the love of her life Jerry Davenport and he passed away on January 30, 2018.

. She was a member of Zion Chapel Church in Elwood, United Church of Christ & Christian Union , and the T.O.P.S. club.

Mary enjoyed collecting angels and stuffed animals. She was always a very kind and giving person who would help anyone. She was a kind soul who helped brighten our world.

Mary will be missed but lovingly remembered by her family and friends. Mary is survived by her loving daughter, Lynette (John) Sease of Peru; grandson, Sean Davenport; granddaughter, Jessica Martin; granddaughter, Sarah (Robert) Deaton; great-grandchildren, Brydon, Mya, Adan, Haleigh, Kyan, Kyler, Adriana, Reagan, Mareya, Jayden, Aleanna, Bryleigh, Draven, Julia, Chloe and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Davenport, sister, Beverly Jean Ramey, father, Boyd Porter, mother, Sarah (Reese) Porter.

Funeral service will be at 2:00 pm Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at Dunnichay Funeral Home, Elwood, Indiana with Pastor Jack Bess officiating. Burial will follow in the Elwood City Cemetery Visitation will be Tuesday, July 3, 2018, 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm, at Dunnichay Funeral Home, 1113 S. Anderson Street, Elwood, Indiana.
