Henry J. Hummell, Sr., 82, of Palmer Township, passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2019 in Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest. Born October 1, 1936 in Easton, PA, he was a son of the late Roy and Margaret (Mattes) Hummell. His wife of 42 years, Patricia A. (McInerney) Hummell, passed away July 6, 2008.

Henry graduated from Easton High School in 1954 and later attended Lafayette College. He was an industrial engineer for Ingersoll Rand Co. and retired in 2000 after 45 years. Henry was an avid photographer, and was usually seen with a camera in his hand.

He photographed hundreds of weddings and was a member of the Hillcrest Camera Club. He was a scoutmaster for many years with the Boy Scouts of America. Henry was a member of St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church.

He was also a member of the Sons of the American Revolution. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. Henry is survived by children, Margaret Bova and her husband James, Melissa Greiser and her husband Jim, Henry Hummell, Jr. and his wife Julie, Amos Hummell and his wife Lynne, and Rebecca Hummell; step-children, Kathleen Wilson and her husband Kevin, and Robert Eschenbach, Jr. and his wife Megan; grandchildren, Grace, Audrey, Evan, and Patrick Bova, Kenneth James, Joseph, and Kyle Greiser, Natalie and Ryan Hummell, Clark and Chandler Hummell, Shannon Wilson, Piper and Penelope Eschenbach; and a brother, Joseph Hummell.

In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by a brother, Paul Hummell, and a sister, Catherine May. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am Monday in St. Jane’s Catholic Church, 4049 Hartley Ave. , Palmer Township.

Call Monday 9:15-10:15am in the church. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s New Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Strunk Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson Borough.
