Hubert “Tony” Vanover, 59, of Philpot, died on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 in Owensboro while under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. He was born on April 25, 1958 in Daviess County. He was employed as a crusher operator for 33 years at Dal-Tile.

Tony’s favorite place to be was at Daviess County Fish & Game. He enjoyed deer hunting, woodworking, old cars, coloring, camping and telling jokes. He especially loved his family and grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by a son, Ernie Vanover and a brother, Glen Vanover. Survivors include his wife of 19 years, Michele Meyer Vanover; two sons, Derek Vanover (Dominique) and James Vanover (Rebecca); three daughters, Amanda Bickett (Justin), Laura Onstott (Joshua) and Emily Horn (Travis); his parents, John William Vanover II and Mae Louise Kelly Vanover; 13 grandchildren, Kevin, Kacie, Mary Beth, Eva Marie, Lyvienne, Jude, Molly, Weston, Jimmie, Maceson, Roland, Trenton and Micah; four brothers, John Vanover III (Pam), Carl Vanover (Debbie), Clif Vanover (Connie) and Kelly Vanover (Pat); two sisters, Angie Brown and Lori Segar; many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews; his four-legged babies, Daisey Belle and Tulip and his six chickens. Memorial service is at 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 22, 2018 at James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory.

Visitation is from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Tony Vanover Memorial Fund, c/o James H. Davis Funeral Home, 3009 Frederica Street, Owensboro, KY 42301.
