Jack Edward Oakley, 88, husband of Kathleen Crumpton Oakley, of West Union, passed away Wednesday, January 23, 2019, at his home. A native of Georgia, Mr. Oakley was the son of the late William and Maggie Cox Oakley. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and later retired from Milliken.

Mr. Oakley was a volunteer firefighter for the city of West Union and a member of West Union Baptist Church. In addition to his wife, Mr. Oakley is survived by his son: Roger Dale Oakley of West Union, SC; daughter: Diane Oakley Hardwick of Mt. Pleasant, SC; sister: Mary Addis of West Union, SC; grandchildren: Crystal O. White (Jamey), Christopher Hardwick (Courtney) and Bradley Hardwick (Hannah); and great-grandchildren: Hastin White, Madison White, Connor Hardwick and Abigail Hardwick.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Oakley was preceded in death by his brothers: Winfred Oakley, Julian Oakley and Joe Oakley; and sisters: Inez Brucke and Ruby Brucke. Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 PM, Friday, January 25, 2019, at Davenport Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Oconee Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 3:00-4:00 PM, Friday, prior to the service, at Davenport Funeral Home.
