Obituary for Jacqueline L. Katz Jacqueline L. “Jackie” Katz, 81, of Spring Grove, was gently ushered into heaven and met her Saviour whom she served all her life on September 21, 2018 at York Hospital. She was the wife of Rev. Larry R. Katz of Spring Grove.

Born on March 12, 1937 in South Hill, VA, she was the daughter of the late Jasper T. and Roselee (Arrington) Satterwhite and stepdaughter of the late Rita Satterwhite. Jackie was an extraordinary pastor’s wife, fabulous homemaker, and a phenomenal mom and grandma. She was involved and led many church ministries.

She was also a gifted gardener, teacher, counselor, and author. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two children, Laurie A. McIntyre and her husband, Robert of Wisconsin and Daniel L. Katz and his wife, Laura of York; seven grandchildren, Anna Rose McIntyre, Makayla McIntyre, David Greer, Andrew Greer, Benjamin Katz, Elizabeth Katz, and Hannah Katz; three great grandchildren, Bennett, Adley and Finley Greer; a brother, Melvin Douglas Satterwhite; and a step sister, Beverly Wardield. She was preceded in death by a brother, Jasper “JT” Satterwhite.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. at Church of the Open Door, 8 Carlisle Court, York, PA 17408, co-officiated by Rev. Bob Reidy and Rev. Larry Katz.

The service will be followed by a dessert reception. A private graveside service will be held at St. Paul’s Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Good News Jail and Prison Ministry, PO Box 9760, Henrico, VA 23228-0760.
