Heaney, 67, of Ocean, NJ, passed away on May 22, 2019 at his home surrounded by close family and friends. Born in Rahway, NJ in 1951, Jim was predeceased by his parents, James J. and Florence Heaney, and his daughter, Ashley Heaney-Butler. Jim is survived by his wife of 43 years, Donna, his son, Colin and his wife, Christine of Ocean, NJ and his son-in-law Joseph Butler of Middletown, NJ; his precious grandchildren Aidan and Eagan Heaney and James Butler.

Jim was a loving father, husband, grandfather, and friend to everyone. He loved college football, umpiring softball games and attending youth and college lacrosse games. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Friday, May 24 from 4-8pm at the Buckley Funeral Home 509 2nd Ave, Asbury Park, New Jersey 07712.

A Christian Burial Service will take place on May 25 at 11am at Saint Anne Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel located at 1610 Allenwood Road, Wall, NJ 07719. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Stephy’s Place in James Heaney’s name.
