Rodney Ford Cromartie February 02, 1957 – May 05, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook Rodney (Ford) Cromartie, age 62, was born on February 2, 1957 at Harlem Hospital, New York. He left this world on May 5, 2019. Rodney always worked hard at school and at work.

His resume is extensive. Rodney graduated from Brandeis High School, New York in 1974. He then attended Columbia University, New York and graduated in 1979 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree.

From there, Rodney enlisted into the Army where he was a Medical Specialist, P.F.C., SP3 until 1981 with an honorable discharge. Rodney was always pursuing some form of knowledge. He attended U.S. Career Institute (2007) where he received a Bookkeeper Certificate.

He also studied at the State University of New York from 2012-2013 where he enrolled in office management and building maintenance courses. Rodney’s work experience spanned areas as an Office Assistant (working for his sister), poll worker, construction and maintenance employee. Rodney belonged to many social and political organizations.

There were many, but a few will be mentioned, such as: Democrat National Committee, Board of Elections, NAACP, West Harlem Progressive Democratic Club, WE Act for Environmental Justice, and Museum of National History. Rodney is survived by his mother, Catherine Ford; sister, Anna Ford Keels; brother-in-law, Elmer Keels; and aunt, Inez Whitted. He also leaves behind a niece, nephews, grand nieces, nephews and many cousins and friends.

Rodney is preceded in death by his father, James Ford.
