James Troy Roundtree April 01, 1983 – May 06, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook James Troy Roundtree departed his life on May 6, 2019. He was born on April 1, 1983 at New York Presbyterian Hospital, to parents, Yvonne and Floyd Roundtree, Sr He then moved to Florence, South Carolina where he attended Wilson High School and developed a passion for football and deep love for basketball.

He completed his high school education in New York. He received support and guidance from both grandparents who resided in the same complex yet on different floors. During James’ senior year, he became fascinated with technology which led him to study welding engineering technology at the City College of New York.

One of James’ most amazing qualities was his love of learning new and exciting things. As he migrated to Pennsylvania, and eventually settled in Atlanta, his background skills in security guard conduct, evacuations and more, made him a proficient individual in the field of security. At first glance, James Roundtree’s magnetic personality captivated you.

His love for human beings, family and even strangers was his most endearing characteristic. However, love for FAMILY was his most unwavering and unconditional stance in life. He learned early in life from his parents and grandparents to nurture, respect, love, communicate and always be loyal to family.

James made sure everyone was taken care of regardless of his personal circumstances. Through his humorous and whimsical personality, he kept his family members, friends and his children entertained and happy. He was the idol son; father, brother, grandson, best friend, co-worker, trouble shooter, confidant, to so many family members and friends that his lost will be forever missed.

James is survived by an abundance of family including: (grandparents) Rosaline Robinson and Ethel Carter; (parents) Floyd Roundtree, Sr. and Yvonne Montgomery; (step parents) Craig Montgomery and Ollie Fields; (partner in life) Nikia Smith; (stepchildren) Aubrey and Albani; (son) Amoree Roundtree; (brothers) Floyd Jr., Dominique, Adam, and Tony; (sister) Adrianne (Mia) Robinson; (nephews) Joshua and Jabari; (goddaughter) Olivia Jackson; (godparents) Ronald and Beverly Wheaters; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and relatives who live on to celebrate his life.
