Janet Elizabeth Shaw Bowman, 68, of Asheboro, died Saturday, February 9, 2019 at her home. Graveside services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, February 16, 2019, at Oaklawn Cemetery, Asheboro, with Revs. David and Deborah Garner officiating.

Born in Guilford County, NC, on August 4, 1950, Ms. Bowman was the daughter of the late Harvey Tillman Shaw and Ola ELizabeth Yates Shaw. She was a homemaker and mother, whose family was everything to her. She was also a “mother” to all the neigborhood children.

She enjoyed baking and cooking for others. In addition to her parents, Ms. Bowman was preceded in death by her sister, Hortense Hatcher. Surviving are her sons, Shannon Bowman and wife, Joy, of Asheboro, Jason Bowman and wife, Pam, of Asheboro; grandchildren, Ethan Bowman, Jessica Bowman; step grandchildren, Jackson Jennings, Tricia Rogers; step great grandchildren, Lindsey Jennings and DeDe Rogers.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 2:45 p.m. Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Ridge Funeral Home.
