Frances Towery Brown Frances Marcell Towery Brown, 88, of Kernersville, NC, formerly of Asheboro, NC, died Tuesday, February 5, 2019, at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, February 8, 2019, at Randolph Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., Friday, at Ridge Funeral Home.

A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 9, 2019, at Union Cross Moravian Church, 4295 High Point Road, Winston-Salem, with Rev. Russell Williams officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.

Born in Montgomery County, NC, on November 18, 1930, Frances was the daughter of the late George Towery and Ola Holland Towery. She was retired from Randolph Hospital and worked for the Asheboro/Randolph Chamber, prior to moving to Kernersville in 2010 to be near her family. She was a former member of First Assembly in Asheboro and a current member of Union Cross Moravian Church in Kernersville.

She was very active in her church and enjoyed keeping the children in the nursery. She also enjoyed traveling. Frances had a “heart of gold” and she was always full of joy that she spread to everyone that was in her presence.

Surviving are her son, Michael Brown and wife, Julie, of Kernersville; sister, Grace T. Gremer and husband, Charles, of West Hills, CA; grandchildren, Colten Brown and Kayla Brown, of Kernersville. Memorials may be made to the NC Baseball Academy, (Reference Colten Brown), 1137 Pleasant Ridge Road, Greensboro, NC 27409.
