WO Glen Arnold Hunter, 92, of Lexington, died Friday, February 1, 2019 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Memorial services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 6, 2019, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, Asheboro, with military honors to be provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard. A private burial will be conducted at a later date.

A native of Stokes Co., NC, Mr. Hunter was born May 20, 1926, the son of the late Manuel and Bertha Tilley Hunter. He had served over 14 years in the US Army during both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Later he worked in security at Forsyth Technical Community College after earning his associate degree in Criminal Justice.

Glen then worked as a Blue Bird taxi driver to keep active. He loved spending time with children, especially his nieces and nephews. His great nephew, Glen Douglas Johnson, was named in Mr. Hunter’s honor.

Mr. Hunter is survived by his sister, Anne Tarlton, of Troy; brother, Ray Hunter and wife, Nancy, of Asheboro; special niece, Cathy Johnson; and many other nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 6, 2019, at Ridge Funeral Home prior to the service.
