Thelma Jean Perkins Bowers, 88, of Asheboro, died Sunday, March 17, 2019 at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. Funeral services will be conducted at 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 20, 2019, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, Asheboro, with Rev. Mackie Walters and Rev.

Burton King officiating. Born in Bennettsville, South Carolina, on July 18, 1930, Thelma was the daughter of the late William Ebby Perkins, and Edna Copper Perkins. She was a member of The Church of God of Prophecy in Asheboro.

Surviving are her daughter, Carolyn Caulder, of Asheboro; sisters, Tennie Evans of Missouri, Mary Evers, of Rockingham, Louise Menikheim, of Rockingham, Doris Lee, of Rockingham; brothers, David Perkins and wife, June, of Asheboro, Sam Perkins, of Rockingham; three grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at Ridge Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 20, 2019. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Randolph, P.O. Box 9, Asheboro, NC 27204.
