Janice Wilson, 58, of the Bald Mountain Community, passed away Saturday July 7, 2018 at Mission Hospitals Memorial Campus. A native of Yancey County, she was a daughter of the late Holt and Willena Fender Wilson. She was also preceded in death by a brother Wade Wilson.

Janice was a long time registered nurse, having worked at St Josephs Hospital in the Cardiac Care Unit and later with Asheville Specialty Hospita,l in wound care. Surviving are her brother, Chris Wilson and wife Jeanne of Burnsville. A sister-in-law Lucille Wilson of Burnsville.

3 nephews: Ronald Wilson of Greenville, SC, Keith Wilson of Burnsville and Garrett Wilson of Greeneville, TN. 2 neices: Jennifer Fender of Greeneville, TN and Amanda Long of Clyde. 2 great nephews: Wyatt Fender and Grayson Long.

3 great neices: Addison Long, Raegan Fender and Kenzie Long all of whom she dearly loved. A dear friend, Marion Minor of Charlotte, whom she considered her sister. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 7 P.M. Tuesday, July 10, 2018, in the Chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home.

Rev. Darryl Bailey will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Yancey County Humane Society Animal Shelter, 952 Cane River School Road, Burnsville, NC 28714. At other times the family will be at the home of her brother Chris Wilson at Bald Mountain.
