Obituary for Janis Ann Brittain Janis Ann Brittain passed away Monday, October 15th after a long battle with cancer. She was 58 years old and lived in Matthews NC. Jan was born May 11, 1960 in Harrisburg IL.

She is survived by Husband Durward (Dewayne) Brittain; Daughter Amy Daugherty and husband Shawn; Son Dylan Brittain and 3 grandchildren, Kayla, Chase, and Kylee Ann Daugherty. She was preceded in death by her father and mother Frank and Elizabeth Rice Jarrell, and brothers Frank and James (Jim) Jarrell. Jan always lived her life to the fullest and loved her family and friends dearly.

She loved to entertain, cook, and play cards. She was a hairstylist and teacher assistant for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools for many years. We are so thankful for her doctors and care team at Novant and CMC and most especially for her best friend Shelly, who has been there through it all.

The Brittain family will receive friends at Lowe Neddo Funeral Home on Thursday, October 18, 2018 at 6pm, with a Celebration of Life to begin at 7pm.
