Jean Dixon Adams was born in Letcher County, Blackey, Kentucky on July 23, 1942. She was the oldest daughter of Bob and Alice Dixon. Jean married the love her life and husband of 61 years, Jimmy Ray Adams of July 5, 1958.

Together Jean and Jimmy raised their two children, Michael Shade Adams (Fran) and Mary Carolyn Adams Sturgill (Tim). Jean was a proud grandmother of Brett Adams (Jennifer), Nikki Adams, Aaron Sturgill, Connor Sturgill, and Dalton Sturgill. She was blessed with three great grandchildren, Parker, Cole, and Kanaan Adams.

Jean has three sisters; Helen Amburgey, Chris Asher, Gladys Allen and a step sister Wanda Keaton along with a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends to mourn her passing. Jean was a loving, kind, bright and hard working woman. She was an over achiever in school and graduated from Stuart Robinson High School at the young age of 15.

She was an amazing cook and quickly became well known for her chicken and dumplings and biscuits and gravy. Jean always enjoyed getting together with family and friends and leaves us all with cherished memories. Funeral: 11:00 O’clock A.M. Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at the Blair Branch Old Regular Baptist Church with Danny Dixon and Elwood Cornett officiating.

Visitation: 6:00 P.M. P.M. Tuesday at the Blair Branch Old Regular Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Shade Adams Cemetery at Jeremiah, Kentucky.
