Jenene Ethyl JuKich nee Nielsen, age 92, of Wauconda, formerly of Lake Barrington, passed away Sunday, October 28, 2018 at Presence St. Joseph Hospital, Elgin. She was born February 24, 1926 in Chicago, to John and Theresa (Pleva) Nielsen. On March 28, 1949 at the courthouse in downtown Chicago, Jenene married the love of her life, Luke Daniel JuKich.

Jenene adored her family, and looked forward to visiting and enjoying precious time with them. Among other things, Jenene wanted to make everyone’s day brighter, whether it was with a kind smile or visiting the elderly to bring them flowers from Messiah Lutheran Church.

She taught Sunday School at Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Chicago, which enlightened many children to know Jesus. Jenene devoted herself all her life to serving our Lord. She would like to hear God say “Well Done my good and faithful servant”.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving children, Holly (Wayne) Wyckoff, Forrest (Donna) JuKich, Beth (Robert) Schoepke; and adoring grandchildren, Zachary, Whitney, Kevin, and Lauren. In addition to her parents, Jenene was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Luke in 1997. Friends and neighbors may gather Friday, November 2, 2018 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the Messiah Lutheran Church, 25225 W. Ivanhoe Road, Wauconda, IL 60084.
