Jennetta Wood Whitlow peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 27th, 2019, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 8th, 1939 to Sallie Modie Wood and Reavely Willis Wood in Scottsville, KY. During her high school years, she met the love of her life, Kenneth Ray Whitlow, and they married in 1955.

They moved to Bowling Green and welcomed two children together. She graduated from Nursing School in 1965, and was blessed to serve others during her career as a nurse. She touched many lives in the Bowling Green area while working for Dr. Jerry Martin, and made many lasting friendships through her work.

She had a selfless, giving heart and always put others before herself. She even provided home-cooked meals to her patients’ who were no longer able to care for themselves. She was an active member of her church throughout her life, and always taught by example on living her life for the Lord.

She enjoyed many family trips, singing in the church choir, camping, and anything involving her children and grandchildren. She was a Kentucky Colonel. She also opened her home and heart to numerous Foster Children.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Sallie Wood, and Reavely Wood, 5 brothers, Earl W. Meador (Magaline), Guthrie Meador (Francis) Velmon Meador (Beatrice), Reavely Wood Jr. (Vangeline) Roy Wood, 1 sister, Mildred Meador. She is survived by her loving family: two children, Gina Vervilles and husband, Andy, of Bowling Green, and Brad Whitlow and wife Michelle, of Owensboro. Grandchildren, Hope Ann Kuballa (Steve), Taylor Jones (Daniel), Hope Lee, Mason Whitlow, Brock Vervilles, and John Kenneth Vervilles.

Brittany Butler (Kale), Krystal Henning (Chris) Great-Grandchildren, Noelle, Grace, and Sam Kuballa, and Titus and Micah Jones, Aidan and Will Henning, Brody Butler. Two step sisters, Delcie Mae Allen and Judy Crowder (Thomas), and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind many dear friends, and her loving companion, her cat, Gracie.

Funeral services will be Friday, February 1, 2019 at 1:00 pm at J. C. Kirby and Son Lovers Chapel. Visitation will be Thursday 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm and Friday, 11:00 am until time of services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

Expressions of Sympathy may be made to Bowling Green-Warren County Humane Society.
