Robert Lee ‘Bob’ Currens, Sr., 80, of Bowling Green passed away Sunday, January 27, 2019. The Indianapolis native was born April 28, 1938 to the late Lynn and Eunice Irene (Barks) Jenkins. He was also preceded in death by his son, Steve Currens.

Bob was a retired public works employee with the City of Bowling Green. He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed watching and coaching youth baseball. Bob was a member of Highland Baptist Church and a Navy veteran.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Marta (Price) Currens; sons, Robert Lee, Jr., Jeff, Stan, Tim (Randa); daughter, Robin Elkin (William); seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and a special niece, Rita Porter. A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the J.C. Kirby & Son Broadway Chapel with visitation from 10 a.m. until service time. Cremation was chosen.
