Obituary for Jimmie Marshall Macom Jimmie Marshall Macom, born 12/13/1948 in Bakersfield, CA, passed away surrounded by his family on 07/05/2018. Jim was married to Valerie Macom for 43 years and had 5 beautiful children: Gina Marie Oltman (spouse Jeremy) of Phoenix AZ; Jimmie Jr. (spouse Casey) of Spartanburg, SC; Michelle Macom (spouse Virgil) of Ft. Myers, FL; Monika Macom (partner Raymond); and Patrick Macom (spouse April); as well as his adopted son, Chris Kinley (spouse Daniel) of Charlotte, NC.

Jim was blessed with 19 grand children and 8 great grand babies. He was always a candidate for the weekly facial and makeup parties his grand daughter would force him to endure, and always a good sport for the photo session post-makeup. Jim was a believer who now rests in the arms of our Lord.

He never failed to question any bible study he attended, encouraging us to test the words to be sure they were not man’s truth but God’s truth. He loved going to the beach each year with his family and searching diligently for the ever-evasive shark tooth, and brought his many rolls of quarters for the games at the Pavilion Arcade. We will miss the coffee cans filled with huge blackberries he found every summer in secret places.

His guidance while his daughter took over his plumbing business will not be forgotten. The pride he had watching his children grow from goofy kids into awesome young men and women will have a lasting impact Jim will be missed dearly by all those who knew his heart, even when he tried to hide behind his tough exterior. His prayer each night was that his children be filled with love for one another; that we laugh often; love hard; and be totally amazed at this wonderful world we live in.

Jim is preceded in death by the Father and Mother Everett and Irene Macom, and his sister Marilyn Howell. He is survived by his brother, Everett Macom (spouse Yolanda), and sisters Carolyn Walters (spouse Van) and Connie Brady (spouse Durant).
