Obituary for Martha L. Hudson Martha L. Hudson, 86, of Concord, NC, died Sunday, September 2, 2018, at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis. Martha was born in Murphy, NC, on November 29, 1931, the daughter of Ham and Mabel Scroggs. She grew up in Asheville, NC.

After graduating from high school, she became a homemaker and was blessed to raise three children. Martha is survived by: a daughter, Darlene (husband Charles) Helms of Concord; a son, Donald (Cynthia) Hudson of Orangeburg, SC; grandchildren: Mallory (husband Chris Stafford) Hudson of Indian Trail, NC, Shelli (husband Larry) King of Concord, Jonathan Helms of Concord, Jamil (wife Caitlin) Hudson of Monroe, NC, Donald Hudson Jr of Monroe, and Katherine (husband Matt) Ott of Monroe; great grandchildren: Jason Ryan King Jr., Brandon Matthew King, Evan Tyler King, Saylor Hudson, Jaxton Hudson, Aiden, Ethan and Maddox; a daughter-in-law, Cathy Hudson of Indian Trail, NC; two brothers: John Scroggs of Liecester, NC, and Sam Scroggs of Asheville, NC; and her sisters, Betty Milton of Asheville and Nell Bass of Norcross, GA. She is further survived by her church family at Golden Acres Baptist Church as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by parents; a son, David; and a brother, Bill Scroggs. Per Martha’s wishes, there will be no formal services. Please take a moment to visit her Tribute Wall and share a memory, photo, video or condolence with the family.
