Obituary for Evelyn Louise Clark Evelyn L. Clark, 92, of Charlotte, died Thursday, September 6, 2018. Through the blessing of hospice, she was able to be at home surrounded by family at the time. Evelyn was born in Dayton, Pennsylvania, on August 8, 1926, the daughter of William and Fannie Lantz Reesman.
She married Robert E. Clark and they moved to Charlote in 1971 when he transferred there with his job at Freuhoff Trailer Corp. She had been a lifelong resident ever since. Evelyn enjoyed many things in life.
Not content to simply complete jigsaw puzzles, she further mounted and framed them to hang on the wall. She also enjoyed sewing, working in her flower garden and anything related to plants. Most of all, however, Evelyn loved caring for and being around others.
She cherished the opportunity to be a homemaker and raise her children. She loved being an active member of Morning Star Lutheran Church and participating in various outreach programs. Time spent with family and friends was truly what she truly enjoyed and she will be missed by all who knew her.
Evelyn is survived by her children: Robert E. Clark Jr (wife Elona) and Peggy Gerrard; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She is further survived by numerous other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, in 1993; a son Ronald in 1984; a daughter Beverly Griffin in 2016, and a grandson, CMPD Officer Sean Clark in 2007.
She is further preceded in death by a brother, LaVern Reesman and a son-in-law, Curt Gerrard. A memorial service honoring the life, love and blessing of Evelyn and led by Pastor John Mouritsen will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, September 12, at Morning Star Lutheran Church. Friends may gather with the family at the church from 10:30 until the time of the service.
Interment to take place in the Morning Star Lutheran Church Cemetery. Evelyn’s family has given the family of Lowe-Neddo Funeral Home the privilege of caring for her and for them. Please take a moment to visit her Tribute Wall and share a favorite memory, photo, video or condolence.
