Joan Dzierzbicki, age 91, of Johnsburg passed away Sunday, April 22, 2018 at Theresa’s Home in Gurnee with her loving family at her side. She was born September 18, 1926 in Shepperton, England to Herbert Owen and Ruby (Scriven) Champion. Joan married Tadeusz Dzierzbicki in England and shortly after their marriage moved to Canada and then to Chicago.

She enjoyed knitting, baking, camping in the mountains, and loved spending time outdoors and taking long walks. Joan retired from Oak Electronetics… Read More » in Crystal Lake. After retirement Joan and her husband bought an RV and traveled the world making great friendships along the way.

Joan had a wonderful sense of humor regardless of what life situations were at the time. She was a very loving Mother and Nana. She is survived by her three children, Martin (Karen) Dzierzbicki, Thaddeus (Lauren) Dzierzbicki, Barbara Spyra; five grandchildren, John, Sarah, Nikki, Emmy, Jenna; two great grandsons, Mason and Gavin; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Tadeusz Dzierzbicki; brothers, Bert and Alfonso; and a sister, Ruby. A memorial visitation will take place on Saturday, May 5, 2018 from 11 am until the 12 pm funeral blessing at Thompson Spring Grove Funeral Home, 8103 Wilmot Road, Spring Grove, IL 60081. For those wishing to send an expression of condolence the family suggests memorials to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
