John E. Mowery April 28, 1932 – February 12, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook John E. Mowery, age 86, of Mechanicsburg, PA passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at home. Born April 28, 1932 in Dillsburg, he was the son of the late Janet (Ankerbrandt) and Paul S. Mowery, Sr. John retired from the US Air Force where he worked as an Administrative Supervisor. He served in Korea during the Korean War.

After retirement we worked at Capitol Products, Country Market and Messiah Village. John was a member of Shepherdstown United Methodist Church, Mechanicsburg. He loved playing the piano and socializing especially at the pool at Messiah Village.

John is survived by his loving wife of 61 years Louise (Kilmore) Mowery; three children, John L. Mowery, Steve E. Mowery and wife Tonya and Brian K. Mowery all of Mechanicsburg; his four grandchildren, Tasha, Carson, Devon and Michael Mowery and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Kyle Mowery; and his six siblings, John A. Mowery, Helen L. Anderson, Paul S. Mowery, Jr., William H. Mowery, Doris M. Mowery and Margaret J. Holland. Funeral services will be held Friday, 11:00 AM February 15, 2019 at Malpezzi Funeral Home, 8 Market Plaza Way, Mechanicsburg.

Viewing will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Burial will be held at Mechanicsburg Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shepherdstown United Methodist Church, 1934 South York Street, Mechanicsburg.
