Richard’s Obituary Richard R. Garberich, age 92, formerly of Mechanicsburg, passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at the Masonic Village in Elizabethtown. Born July 24, 1926 in Mechanicsburg he was the son of the late William and Emily (Rupert) Garberich. Richard retired from the Mechanicsburg Ships Parts Control Center after 34 years of dedicated service.

He was a US Army veteran of World War II and a member of Eureka-West Shore Lodge No. 302 F&AM; Samuel C. Perkins RAC No. 209; Harrisburg Council R&SM No.

7; Pilgrim Commandery No. 11; Erin Council No. 6 – Knight Masons of United States; Past Commanders Line Officers Assoc.

of South-Central PA; First Capital York Rite Sovereign College No. 156; Council of Anointed Kings; Trinity Conclave; Red Cross of Constantine; PA Chapter Sovereign Order of Knights Preceptor; Citizens Fire Company, Mechanicsburg; American Legion Post 109 and the Mechanicsburg Club. Richard was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years Stephany T. (Smolcic) Garberich and by his brother Lynn Garberich.

He is survived by his niece Jennifer Skoff and husband Steve of Hummelstown. Memorial services will be 11:00 AM Friday, February 22, 2019 at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Mechanicsburg. Interment will take place at Trindle Spring Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 AM followed by a Masonic service beginning at 10:30 AM Friday at the church. Respecting Richard’s request, in lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 8 E. Keller St., Mechanicsburg, PA 17055 or to The Knights Templar Eye Foundation, Inc., 1033 Long Prairie Road, Suite 5, Flower Mound, TX 75022.
