Earnest’s Obituary Earnest W. Eubanks, age 76, of Dillsburg, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at home. Born January 1, 1943 in Tuscaloosa, AL. Dearest husband of Barbara Jean (Murphy) Eubanks of 53 years.

Beloved father of Tracey McCullough (Kevin) of Harrisburg, PA, Danielle Rudy (Jonathan) of Mechanicsburg, PA and Timothy Eubanks of Austin, TX. Mr. Eubanks is survived by six grandchildren whom he adored, Kevin David McCullough Jr., Kollin Jon McCullough, Kyra Danielle McCullough, Kyle Timothy McCullough, Isabella Marie Rudy and Lena Jean Rudy. Two sisters Shirley Pinckney of Boston, MA and Dyantha Eubanks Tolbert of Huntsville, AL.

A host of nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents Gladys (Parham) James and Howard Eubanks; stepmother, Hazel Eubanks; siblings, Claude James, Charles James and William Eubanks. Mr. Eubanks received his Bachelor of Science in Economics at Tuskegee Institute, where he met his loving wife.

He enjoyed being the man about campus. Mr. and Mrs. Eubanks joined the civil rights movement and made it their mission to impact a world of change. Both were members of the Student Non-violent Coordinating Committee (SNCC).

He was a member of the Army Reserve (Medic) for 6 years. He later became a civilian in the Army and Navy. His 39 years of service to the Federal Government until retirement included the Veterans Administration, Department of the Army, Defense Logistic Agency and Department of the Navy.

Mr. Eubanks was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He enjoyed spending countless hours with his family, especially attending his grandchildren’s events. He will be remembered as a spirited, generous and supportive husband and father.

Mr. Eubanks was a dear friend to many. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, March 11, 2019 at Malpezzi Funeral Home, 8 Market Plaza Way, Mechanicsburg. Facilitator Timothy W. Eubanks will preside over the services.

Viewing will be held from 9:30 AM until the time of service. Burial will take place at Dillsburg Cemetery.
