Joyce’s Obituary Joyce E. Brenneman, age 65 of Mechanicsburg, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at her home. Born April 13, 1953 in Harrisburg, PA, she was a daughter of the late Leonard C. and Florence R. (Ebersole) Dress. Joyce was a graduate of West Perry High School Class of 1971.

She retired from the Cumberland Valley School District as a Special Education Teacher’s Aide and was formerly employed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania – Department of Workers’ Compensation, Haubert Homes, Main Stationers and assisted in the daily operations of the Brenneman Family Farms. Joyce was a very active member of Trinity United Methodist Church in New Kingstown where she was involved with numerous church activities and served on many committees. She enjoyed gardening, baking, playing the piano, being around horses and attending horse shows.

Joyce was an avid sports fan and specifically liked watching high school games. She loved going out to eat and treating her family on those occasions. She enjoyed dining at Red Lobster and was constantly searching for the perfect crab cake.

Joyce was a great organizer, not only with household items, but with family as well. She shared information through her findings in genealogical research but was also very good at keeping her extended family close and together through reunions or just by simply staying in touch. Joyce had a special place in her heart for children and always cherished the moments she could spend with her grandchildren.

Joyce was a wonderful and caring person who touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed. Joyce is survived by her loving husband of 42 years Lynn K. Brenneman, a daughter Jody Brenneman (Terry Sheaffer) all of Mechanicsburg; a son Jason Brenneman (Coreen); two grandchildren Kendall and Ian Brenneman all of New Bloomfield; three sisters Sharon “Sherry” Cromleigh (Bob) of Duncannon, Cheryl Sellers (Nevin) of Shermans Dale, and Lori McClellan (John) of New Bloomfield; a brother L. John Dress (Lorrie) of Shermans Dale and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at Trinity United Methodist Church, New Kingstown.

Burial will take place at Longsdorf Cemetery. Viewing will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at Malpezzi Funeral Home, Mechanicsburg. As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 4 West Main Street, New Kingstown, PA 17072.
