Robert’s Obituary Robert W. Meier, formerly of Pittsburgh, PA passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2019 at his residence Spring Creek, Harrisburg, PA. and he was 92 years old. Born in Wilkinsburg, PA Feb.

20, 1927, he was the son of the late William F. and Erna (Rensch) Meier. During World War II he enlisted in the Army Air Corps, was sent to Virginia Military Institute for specialized training then to the European Theatre. He served his country, The Army of the United States with the 831st Engineering Aviation Battalion in Germany, constructing what is now Rhein/Main Air Base.

He returned from Germany and completed his education at the University of Pittsburgh. He was formerly the Executive Administrator for Deeter Ritchey Sipple Architects in Pittsburgh. In 1970 he was named Executive Director of the Pennsylvania Society of Architects in Harrisburg.

In 1981 he joined the Marketing Department of High Concrete Structures in Lancaster. He retired and in 1996 started his own business as Robert Meier Architectural Photography operating in several surrounding states. He was preceded in death by his beautiful wife of 62 years, Willa Werner formerly of Churchill Boro Pittsburgh; sister, Ursula Meisenburg.

He is survived by his daughter, Lynne Keiser and her companion William Wessels of Boiling Springs; son, Rob and his wife Lori Zehring-Meier of Lewisberry; four grandchildren, Danielle Sauve’ (wife of Jeffrey); Samantha Kuhn (wife of Cory); Jessica Thomas (wife of Scott) and Paige Meier and her companion Anthony Laffollete (daughter of Carol Meier and Rob Meier) and his nine great-grandchildren, Madison and Logan Sauve’, Makenzie, Evan and Leila Kuhn, Jordan, Victoria, Quentin, and Adley Thomas. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, March 21, 2019 at Malpezzi Funeral Home, 8 Market Plaza Way, Mechanicsburg. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of service.

Burial with military honors will be held at Rolling Green Cemetery, Camp Hill.
