Obituary for John L. Bowcott John Lewis Bowcott entered into eternal rest September 5, 2018 surrounded by his loving family at Cabell Huntington Hospital following a tragic tractor accident. John was born on February 1941 in Pliny, the son of the late John Austin (Bud) and Sylvia Meadows Bowcott. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son David Bowcott, sister and brother in law Leroy and Phyllis Stevens and brother in law Charles Stevens.

John was known as a hardworking man who would help everyone. He could be found often working his garden or cutting wood. He was retired from International Nickel and a member at Twin City Bible Church, Nitro.

He is greatly loved and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife Phyllis, daughters Cheri Dillon (Chuck), Sheila Harvey (Tim), son Gregory Hodges, daughter in law Alesia Willis. Also surviving six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren, sister, Winifred Stevens of Ohio as well as many family members and friends.

Funeral service for John will be 1:00pm Saturday September 8, 2018 at Twin City Bible Church, Nitro, 100 First Avenue, Nitro WV with Pastor Scott Bandy officiating. Family will receive friends 2 hours prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans WV.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations in his name be made to Twin City Bible Church, c/o Building Fund, 100 First Avenue Nitro, WV or a charity of choice.
