Obituary for Fred Daniel Fizer Fred Daniel “Dan” Fizer, 81, of Scott Depot passed away on Tuesday, October 23, 2018, after a long illness. Dan was born July 23, 1937 in Quick, to the late Kerney and Mary Fizer. Dan served in the Army National Guard shortly after graduating from Elkview High School.

He worked for Carbide before becoming a realtor, where he loved serving people and helping them buy or sell their homes. But most of all Dan loved serving his God, whether it was at Teays Valley Church of God, or by singing with the Master’s Quartet as they traveled to share God’s word. Dan is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Joyce Fizer of Scott Depot; children, Sam Fizer (Lori), Danielle Williams (John); grandchildren, Brooklyn, Drew, and David; and many other extended family and friends.

A service to celebrate Dan’s life and to his homecoming will be at 4:00 pm Sunday October 28, 2018 at Teays Valley Church of God, 185 Connection Point, Scott Depot, with Rev. Dr. Melissa Pratt officiating. Friends may visit with the family two hours before the funeral at the church.

Burial will be Monday at 1:00 pm at Donel C. Kinnard Memorial State Veterans Cemetery, Dunbar, WV. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Teays Valley Church of God at 185 Connection Point, Scott Depot, WV 25560. Or to Hospice Care at 1606 Kanawha Blvd.
