Obituary for Earnest D. Coalter Sr. Earnest D. Coalter, Sr., 89, of St. Albans passed away Sunday, October 7, 2018 at his residence. He was born in St. Albans to the late Charles Edgar and Margaret Cora Nurnberger Coalter. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Lillian Deaner, Patty Wade, Catherine Austin and Georgia Davis; brothers, Charles and Joe Coalter.

Earnie was a retired truck driver for Coastal Tank Lines. He was a member of the Teamster Union # 175, also served his country during the Korean War with the US Navy. He was a member of St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church, St. Albans and attended Gateway Christian Church, St. Albans.

Surviving are his loving daughter and son-in-law, Dawn L. and Jay Templeton of Scott Depot; sons and daughters-in-law, Earnest D. Jr. and Kathleen Coalter of Cape Charles, VA and Drew S. and Denise Coalter of Hurricane. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Michelle Roth (Steve), Mara Call (Jarrod) and Eric Templeton (Kerri), Chad and Ben Coalter, Andy Coalter (Samantha) and Courtney Watkinson (Brad); great grandchildren, Brady, Ansley, Jude, Tide, Hadley, Liam, Eliza, Anna, Anne Bradley and Molly; and special niece, Jodie Pauley. Memorial service will be held at 7:00 pm Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at Bartlett-Chapman Funeral Home, St. Albans with Pastor Steve Harley officiating.

Burial will follow at a later date in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans. Friends may gather with the family from 6 to 7:00 pm prior to the memorial service. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the Gateway Christian Church, In Memory of Earnest D. Coalter, Sr., 118 Poplar Fork Road, Scott Depot, WV 25560.
