Obituary for Jo Ann Townsend Jo Ann Townsend, 82, of Scott Depot, passed away August 31, 2018. Jo Ann was born on January 7, 1936 in Racine to the late Dallas and Violet Hutchison Gulley. She was also preceded in death by her husband Charles Townsend; children, Charles “Joe” Townsend and Allen Townsend; sisters, Lorena Childers, Dorothy “Dot” Burnette, and Coretta Zickafoose; and brothers, Herbert Gulley, Romeo Gulley and Robert Gulley.

Jo Ann was a 1954 graduate of Sherman High School, a Baptist by faith and a longtime member of Judson Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by her daughter, Kathy McMurray (Dale) of Grayson GA; her chosen son Richard “Butch” Meyer; grandchildren, Megan Harding (Dave), Erin Davis (Cody) and Jacob Townsend (Trish); four Great grandchildren; and numerous other extended family and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday September 6, 2018, at Judson Baptist Church, 1400 Bills Creek Road, Winfield, WV, with Pastor Bobby Goldsburg officiating. Burial will follow in Judson Baptist Church Cemetery, Winfield. Visitation will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Wednesday at Chapman Funeral Home Hurricane.
