John McCabe, 84, of Burlington, died Friday, March 15, 2019, at the Great River Medical Center in West Burlington. Born April 17, 1934, in Oquawka, IL, he was the son of Douglas and Mable Tee McCabe. In 1957, he married Linda Lou Decker in Gladstone.

He worked in production at IAAP, and later worked in maintenance for Burlington School Systems. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. John enjoyed fishing commercially, hunting and spending time at the river cabin.

Survivors include three daughters, Kat Dugan of Burlington, IA, Lori Pauley of Fort Madison, IA, Brenda (Rodney) Boyer of Saint Lucas, IA, seven grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and sister, Lois Allen of Burlington, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son, one grandson, and one great grandson. Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh~Thielen Crematory.

There will be no formal visitation or services.
