Obituary for John R. Quigley John R. Quigley, 64, of Murphysboro passed away at 7:23 p.m. on Saturday, December 23, 2017, at his home near Murphysboro. John was born April 2, 1953, a son to the late William R. and Marie A. (Baumler) Quigley. He was a member of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in Murphysboro and was a United States Air Force Veteran serving from 1973 until 1996.

He was currently employed in Building Services at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 29, 2017, at Crawshaw Funeral Home in Murphysboro. Rev.

Larry Gilbert of the Murphysboro United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial with military rites by the American Legion Paul Stout Post 127 in Murphysboro will follow the services at Pleasant Grove Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials are encouraged and may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or the Elks Children’s Care Corporation and will be accepted at the funeral home. Survivors include one son, Ryan Quigley of Elkville, IL; his former wife and mother of Ryan, Robbie J. (Skidmore) Crosley of Murphysboro; two sisters, Brenda (Steve) Estel of West Frankfort, IL, and Jane Ann (John) Tiemann of Las Vegas, NV; and one brother, Bill (Carla) Quigley of Murphysboro. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
