Obituary for Johnny “John” Allen Shrewsbury Funeral services for Johnny Allen Shrewsbury, 76, of Gilmer will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 13, 2018 in the chapel at McWhorter Funeral Home with Bro. Marion Palmer officiating. Interment will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 15, 2018 at Moore Cemetery in Nevada, Missouri.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, October 12, 2018 at the funeral home. Johnny was born on September 14, 1942 in Nevada, Missouri to John and Ruby Barker Shrewsbury and passed form this life on October 9, 2018 in Gilmer, Texas. On June 5, 1965, Johnny married Judith Ellen Baker and she preceded him in death in September, 2008.

Johnny worked as a meat cutter for many years before starting his career as a truck driver. He proudly had 35 years of sobriety through A. A. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Judy Shrewsbury, and by his daughter; Aletha Shrewsbury. Survivors include his sons; Johnny Shrewsbury, Lonnie Shrewsbury and Mark Shrewsbury.
