Joyce Mae Wolfe April 21, 1929 – March 19, 2019 Share this obituary View/Sign Guest Book| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card| Memorial Donation A graveside memorial service will be held April 20, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at Daniels County Cemetery for Joyce M. Wolfe. She passed away Tuesday, March 19 at Daniels Memorial in Scobey at age 89. Joyce was born April 21, 1929 to Jens Peter and Anna Jensen in Scobey, Montana.

She attended country school in the Pleasant Prairie area, in Flaxville, and graduated from Scobey High School in the Class of 1947. After graduation Joyce worked at the Citizens State Bank where she met Charlie Wolfe who also worked there at the time. On August 28, 1949 they were married at Scobey Lutheran Church.

Charlie died in 1971 at the age of 54 of a brain aneurysm. They had two sons James Perry (Judy) and Danny Charles (Renee) both of Scobey. In April 1973 Joyce married Maurice Murphy and Maurice passed away in December 1973.

Joyce had many passions in life, she loved cooking for everyone and entertaining. In her early years she was active as a Sunday school teacher, Cub Scout leader, and Scobey Woman’s Club. She took great pride in her near 20 years in the women’s clothing business, Wolfe’s World of Fashion.

She said, “I had wonderful customers and wonderful workers”. She is survived by her two sons and their families, sisters Carol Hillstrom of Modesto, CA, and Sharon Cromwell of Pleasant Prairie; 5 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by husbands Charlie and Maurice, sisters Mary Ann and Peggy Anderson, mother Anna, father J. P., and brother-in-law Rick Cromwell.

Memorials may be given to Scobey Lutheran Sunday School, Border Shrine Club transportation fund, or one of givers choice. Waller Funeral Home of Scobey has charge of arrangements.
