June R. Francy May 22, 1930 – January 7, 2019 June R. Francy, 88 of Centerview, Missouri passed away Monday, January 7, 2019 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. June was born May 22, 1930 on the family farm near Strasburg, Missouri; daughter of William Elmer Rosanbalm and Lucy Kate (Breeding) Rosanbalm. She graduated from Pleasant Hill High School, Class of 48.
She was united in marriage to Clifford Merle Francy on October 21, 1955 at Pleasant Hill. During this time, they made their home in Pleasant Hill and June worked at Continental Grain in Kansas City. Next, the couple lived in Lawrence, Kansas for six months where she was a stay-at-home mom.
Later, she held a 4-H Youth Extension position for Jackson County. More recently, June went into the real estate business, starting with Villa Realty in Independence. On March 18, 1972, the family moved to Centerview, where she worked for Key Realty.
She eventually was employed at Bartlett Grain Company in Kansas City until retiring. June was an expert seamstress, at one point, operating a small sewing business out of the couple’s garage. She also started Francy’s Fancies, doing custom sewing.
June created a beautiful braided egg bread recipe, which she equaled to a bakery that they purchased bread from in Lawrence, Kansas. That bread sold at many fundraisers for $50 a loaf! She was so proud of the fact it could help countless activities or fundraisers.
June was very active with the Hugs Program, which shipped care packages to soldiers in Iraq. June and Clifford were chair members of the first Johnson County Fair, and she was a member of the Centerview Senior citizens. She was baptized in the First Baptist church in Centerview.
