Obituary for Mrs. Katheryne C. Murray-Welch Mrs. Katheryne C. Murray – Welch, 77, of Pittsfield passed away on Sunday, July 8, 2018 at Mt. Greylock Extended Care Facility surrouned by her loved ones. Born in Pittsfield on July 26, 1940, the daughter of Charles W. and Margaret M. Dunn Lavelle, she was a graduate of Pittsfield High School.

Katheryne worked as a Customer Service Representative at Berkshire Gas for over 25 years. After retiring from Berkshire Gas she continued work with 7 years of service in retail with Filene’s and Macy’s. She was a long standing parishoner at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church.

She was active in her church community, servicing as head of Alter Guild for 15 years, and also taught Sunday school for many years. She enjoyed organizing social events and ran the social club at The Berkshire Gas Company for many years. Katheryne enjoyed traveling, but what she loved most was time spent with her family.

She is survived by her four children Gerald Garneau and wife June of Hudson, MA, David W. Turner and wife Mary, Cheryl A. Bianco and husband Michael, Laura A. Cookis and Ross Cookis all of Pittsfield; 4 sisters, Peggy Rizzo, Connie Biegel, Beverly Tobin and Debbie Byrd; a brother, Charles Lavelle and 10 grandchildren, Kristena Turner, Kasey Turner, Zachery Turner, Hunter Stanton, Dion Bianco, Quinton Cookis, Trinity Cookis, Makailey Cookis, Lauren Garneau and Brandon Garneau. She is also survived by her companion, John Mayer. She was preceded in death by her daughter Dawn Marie Garneau.

Funeral Notice: Funeral services for Mrs. Katheryne C. Murray – Welch will be Thursday, July 12, 2018, at 9 a.m. from the Dwyer Funeral Home, 776 North St., Pittsfield, MA with a 10 a.m. service at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church. Burial will follow in Pittsfield Cemetery. Calling hours, at the funeral home will be on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Autism Speaks care of the Dwyer Funeral Home, in her memory.
