Kathryn’s Obituary Kathryn P. “Katie” Sanders, 94, of Bloomington, formerly of Paxton passed away 2:29 a.m. Sunday, January 13, 2019 at OSF St Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Baier Family Funeral Services, 406 E Pells, Paxton with Pastor Anne Christiansen officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cemetery, Paxton.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Thursday from 10-11 a.m. Kathryn was born December 31, 1924 in rural Paxton the daughter of Harry and Jessie Johnson Gustafson. She married John F. Sanders November 16, 1947 at First Lutheran Church, Paxton. He preceded her in death November 1, 2003.

She is survived by two daughters, Susan (Skip) Lee of Sterling, Mary Conolly of Hoopeston; five grandchildren, John (Rachael), William (Tiffany), Jeni, Michael and Matthew; four great grandchildren, Olivia, Joseph, Calvin, Amelia, and two on the way; and one sister, Irene Niccum of Normal. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Tom Foster; brother-in-law, Lyle Niccum; and son-in-law, Mark Conolly. Katie was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Bloomington.

She was a housewife who loved taking care of her family. Katie enjoyed reading, sewing and cross stitching. After her daughters left home, she devoted time to volunteering and enjoyed sewing circles at her church.
