Patricia’s Obituary Patricia Sauer, 95 of Paxton, died at 2:44 p.m. Monday, January 14, 2019, at Accolade Health Care of Paxton Senior Living. Private services will be conducted in Glen Cemetery, Paxton. Baier Family Funeral Services, Paxton is entrusted with the arrangements.

Patricia was born on March 21, 1923, the daughter of Clyde E. and Charlotte (Preston) McClure. She was raised in Gibson City and graduated from Gibson City High School. In 1944 she graduated from Michael Reese Hospital School of Nursing in Chicago.

Patricia worked as a Registered Nurse at Paxton Community Hospital as supervisor of the surgical department for 25 years. She married Laurance H. Sauer January 20, 1945 and they made their home on the family farm southeast of Paxton. Preceding her in death were her husband, Laurance; parents, one sister, Jane (McClure) Lawerence and one brother Herbert C. McClure.

Surviving are two sons, Dana A. (Sandy) and Thomas E. (Connie) Sauer both of Paxton; one grandson, Charles T. Sauer of Sycamore; two step grandsons, Shannon Obernuefemann of Phoenix, Arizona and Jeffrey Obernuefemann of Wilmington, North Carolina; also, several great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Patricia enjoyed tracing family genealogy, knitting and embroidering, working crossword puzzles, reading, listening to classical music and watching Jeopardy. She was a member of the DAR-Daughters of American Revolution.

Patricia is a descendant of the Illinois Prairie Pioneer (1824).
